Individual Time Trial on coming Sunday

On the coming Sunday, we will conduct our first Individual Time Trial race. This will be a fun event, no prizes this time, but a lot of excitement. This is a race of each one of you against himself and the clock, trying to get the best of yourself. Treat this as a first benchmark, which you will try to improve along time. So don't hesitate to participate, even if you think you are not in shape - it will just make it easier for you to break your personal record the next time!

It is not too hard, only 10KM on a flat road, unlike this L’Alpe d’Huez from the Tour de France:

It is recommend to read a little bit about time trials, wikipedia is a good starting point, and it will even give you tips about the tactics for the race.

We have marked the race course today, and you can see the map here. You can practice on the course and learn it during the weekend.
I have drafted the race rules, make sure you read them before the race. I have followed the UCI rules book, plus the points system that our fellow riders in the Bangalore Biking Club have recently created (following the Formula1 ranking system). This may still change in the future if we think we will find better ways to do it. The goal is to have a system that will allow us to rank the best riders of the year, according to the sum of races they participated in and their success in each race.

We are looking for volunteers
, to help as marshals along the course, as time keepers at the start and finish line, and as photographers. If you want to volunteer, please RSVP yes with a comment: volunteer.

Please RSVP to the meeting: We really want to know how many people are coming, in advance. This will help us communicate to the media and get better exposure, as well as help us organize the race better. If we will have more than 20 participants, we will probably be able to get some nice surprise from a sponsor.

Looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday at 6:30 - as participants, volunteers or audience - feel free to invite your friends, family and work colleagues!

Just Ride!
